About BACKGROUND mode:
How it works: Two measurement values are shown on the screen – Background and the difference of background with the current level. This allows user to see higher radiation sources. Such feature is usually used in professional dosimeters.

Chose this over the others due to it having two SBM-20.1 tubes, making it much more accurate. Is it worth the extra $50? Depends on what you use it for. I love it.

A really well made geiger counter for most applications! It uses 2x SBM-20 counter – very nice! Really really small for its accuracy! I use this counter since over 10 years for radioactive mineral hunting in the Swiss mountains:-). There is no better counter for this kind of use with such a fair price on the market!
